Description:
Oversees all testing, documentation, and production to meet or exceed quality standards. Facilitates with Purchasing, Project Managers, Engineering, and Warehouse to ensure availability of materials, overall cost effectiveness, and that deadlines are met to ship products or machines.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, i.e., tools, fixtures, production lines.
Confirms Bill of Materials from engineering on pre-production run and feeds configurator, verifying accuracy and completion of data entry; ensures configurator data matches output.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Analyzes and plans work force and flow, space requirements, and designs or works with other team members to layout equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with purchasing to determine product specifications and lead times for equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions and planning.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Evaluates defects, non-conformance issues, and test or other data to resolve service or shipping issues and assure quality and timely delivery.
Reports any discrepancies, changes or recommendations, and/or problems for resolution to senior management.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years of related experience and/or training.
