Business Applications Analyst (HRIS)
Based in Manhattan, NY. PREFER local candidates - no sponsorship provided and no relocation provided. Must have excellent communication skills Must have prior HRIS experience (Oracle preferred). Salary - DOE
POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Applications Analyst will interface with corporate and global HR personnel and stakeholders and, to a lesser extent, with corporate payroll and external service providers, to provide recommendations and supporting documentation for the selection, development and refinement of human resource systems and processes. The primary focus of this position involves HR system needs analysis and business process design research and communication. This analyst directly impacts the appropriateness, quality and cost of HR/Payroll solutions and the level of client satisfaction in enterprise HR/Payroll services. Although heavily interfacing with the Payroll business group, the primary focus of this position will be the global HR team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • This individual will collaborate with other departments for overall support and continuous improvement of the supporting systems and processes of the global human resource business groups. • This candidate will act as liaison between the HR global and Payroll business units and the GIS HR/Payroll technical staff to best communicate and implement the system needs of the HR and Payroll business groups. This position will be based in Manhattan with close interactions with Melville personnel. • Manage HR and GIS interactions, maintaining open and frequent lines of communication to ensure all appropriate stakeholders receive adequate communication, thus building a collaborative environment and fostering a partnership that generates enthusiasm and respect amongst team members. • Become extremely knowledgeable about the HR functions, including its business issues and data challenges, to proactively identify and recommend new systems or process solutions to continuously improve GIS support of the HR business group. • Coordination with HR department to proactively and comprehensively follow through on business requirements and business process design research with limited direction, including, but not limited to, analysis and quality assurance support, needs analyses, gap analyses, data mapping, data conversion, matrix testing, coordinating data flows, and business process reengineering. • Facilitate group brainstorming to drive HR and GIS interactions and conversation, identifying key stakeholders, organize meetings, build agendas, create minutes and action item logs and gather information from a broad spectrum of stakeholders, ensuring issues are identified, tracked reported on and resolved in a timely manner. Provide formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring and guidance to the HR, Payroll and GIS team, as needed. Assist the business in the redefining of process and tools evaluation to facilitate a single global process and repository of HR information, building and delivering informative, well-organized presentations of recommended solutions. • Maintain a good understanding of corporate direction as it relates to the HR environment and provide the necessary strategy to help achieve corporate goals. • Consistently deliver high quality services to the entire global HR business group. • Support system users in preparation of reports, lists and updates to HR data and provide ad hoc reports as requested or needed. • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors degree and minimum 5 to 7 years professional experience in related field with 3 years recent experience in Oracle HR/Payroll Application and Cognos business intelligence tool. • Extensive knowledge of human resource and payroll business processes, information systems and technology. • Exhibits a strong intellect and ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations working with multiple parties and their objectives to achieve a common goal, consistent with corporate direction. • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships by effectively managing client expectations. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. • High level of adaptability, ability to learn, ability to impact, and tolerance for stress. • Well organized with process focus. • Self starter demonstrating a sense of urgency with ability to think strategically and to work independently. • Demonstrates creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets in proactively seeking problem resolution with a high level of confidence and of analytical skills for determining appropriate solutions to business requirements. • Strong analytical and project management skills in conjunction with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. • Demonstrates an understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design. • Excellent PC skills and familiarity with software applications including Power Point, Word, MS Project, Excel and Visio.
